Or, I can just type in the name of a site and say CTRL+Enter. But the WWW seems like a mark of tradition to me. We don't call it the World Wide Web anymore, but it's nice to have it there, even if you don't type it. It's like an added confirmation that "Hey, you're on the Internet; welcome to the W3."
